Henry Cecil - RaceHorse Trainer
Henry has used ProSportive products on all his horses since 2005
HENRY CECIL has enjoyed an outstanding career since taking out a licence to train in 1969.
His record in domestic classics is better than any other current trainer with - at the start of the 2008 campaign - a tally of 24 on his glittering CV. Cecil has landed the Derby, racing’s blue riband, on four separate occasions, while he has saddled a record-equalling eight Oaks winners (the latest being Light Shift in 2007) - an exceptional achievement.
The 2000 and 1000 Guineas have also come his way - as has the St Leger. Indeed, he has secured victory on at least two occasions in all three of those Classics.
No less than 10 times Cecil has emerged from a season as the champion trainer. It is hardly a surprise, then, that he has trained for many of racing’s biggest and most high-profile owners.

Henry has attributed ProSportive products to a massive 50% reduction in joint injuries to his horses in training. Henry says “After the success of trialling the product in 2005, every horse in the yard is on it.”
That triumph of Light Shift’s proved the highlight of a very encouraging 2007 campaign. There were other stakes’ wins thanks to Passage Of Time and Twice Over as an overall total of 45 successes - at a 21 per cent strike-rate - were chalked up.
“I love training - it is a way of life,” says Cecil. “I’ve had a certain amount of success and don’t see why that shouldn’t continue.”
With the results that ProSportive products have produced in Henry’s horses, we can see even more success coming his way.
Sue Tideswell- Team Chase Rider

My horse Inching Brook, a 13yr old ex pointer/eventer, and now a top Team Chase horse, has had a slight stiffness in his offside quarter for the last few years, which always seemed worse in the cold weather. I put him on a joint supplement during the winter, which I thought did help, but could never be sure as I still needed to give him an occasional Bute after strenuous day hunting or team chasing.
Last winter I was asked to try ProSportive Triflex. At first I was not sure if the product was any better, but I did notice that I no longer needed to give him Bute after a hard day as he never seemed stiff the following day.
During the summer I ran out of Triflex and did not bother to re-stock…like many of us Inch always feels much better with some sun on his back, and his summer workload is much lighter.
However, the Autumn Team Chase season began and Inch had a good run at the Belvoir, the team finishing a creditable fourth.
But the next day he was so stiff that he was actually lame behind. At first I thought something was very seriously wrong, but then realised he had not had any joint supplement since the spring. I immediately put him back on the Triflex at the recommended treatment dose. Within days he was much better and was able to run the following week at the Atherstone team chase, we stormed round to take second place, and an early 2011 championship place.
The next day he trotted out sound as a pound with no sign of ant stiffness.
I can only put this down to Triflex….I now believe that not all supplements are the same, and from now on he will stay on Triflex all year round!!
